What does it cost for me as a job seeker?
Nothing. It is the employers who pay to see the full reports.
How does the employer know the reference is real?
The manager answers through a personal link and confirms their work email with a one-time code. Private and temporary email addresses (e.g. Gmail and Hotmail) are rejected. We check that the domain belongs to the company – via the Danish CVR register, the age of the domain and the company's website – and flag unusual answers, e.g. from the same network as the candidate. The company sees the result of every check in the report, and fraud leads to exclusion from Referencepas.
What if I don't have my former manager's work email?
Then send the link yourself – on LinkedIn, text, WhatsApp or wherever you talk to the manager. Before answering, the manager confirms with the work email from your shared workplace – or with MitID Erhverv.
Can my former manager answer in English?
Yes. The form can be switched to English with one click, and the passport can be shown in English.
Where is my data stored?
On servers in the EU. We never sell data, and your references are only shared with the people you give your link to.
